Movement & Motion

Motion refers to things that change states automatically without external influence. In contrast, movement requires force or external factors to change a state. For example, when people become stuck in routines and grow complacent, this is often described as “going through the motions.” However, when someone experiences a breaking point and begins actively fighting for significant change, it is called a “movement.”

I focused on expressing this contrast through my ceramic piece, drawing inspiration from Futurist art. By incorporating dynamic forms and deliberate design choices, I sought to capture the tension between passive motion and active movement, reflecting the emotional and physical forces that drive transformation.

Within the realm of ceramic artistry, I engage in deliberate experimentation with the chemistry of various glazes. This exploration achieves diverse and nuanced texture effects in my ceramic pieces. This intentional approach to materiality reflects my commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional techniques and fostering innovation within the field of ceramics.
